About This Certification

The Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) credential validates knowledge of healthcare compliance program design and operation, including regulatory requirements, risk assessment, auditing and monitoring, investigations, and the seven elements of an effective compliance program. It is the leading certification for compliance officers and staff in hospitals, health systems, physician practices, and payer organizations.

Exam Overview

The CHC examination is a 120-question multiple-choice exam administered by the Compliance Certification Board at testing centers or via remote proctoring. Candidates have 2 hours to complete the exam, which is built around the seven elements of an effective compliance program as described in the U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines and OIG guidance.
